No surprise that in our house, cider plays an important part at Christmas and we’re hoping it might for you too. With that in mind we have selected three of our favourites to help with the festivities!
Brut de Poiré is a perry made with locally grown French varieties of pears by the champagne method and so it’s ideal as a drink of Christmas or New Year celebration! It’s beautifully aromatic with delicate pears and lemon blossom on the nose and all soft creamy citrus fruit, brioche, honey and flowers in the mouth, with beautiful fine bubbles.
Thick Cut Yarlington Mill with its bold autumnal flavour of candied apricot, orange oils, winter spices and richness from time in ex-cognac casks is the perfect accompaniment to the full-on flavours of a traditional Christmas dinner.
Wading In is cider’s answer to fine white burgundy. It is the perfect combination of succulent white fleshed fruit, honeysuckle perfume, star anise and fine oak. If you're serving a smoked salmon starter, this is the one to choose!
