Table Cider #8 with Jen Ferguson & Glenn Williams

We've been excited to share the next guest write-up and playlist with you all for almost the same amount of time as it has taken for Table Cider 8 to properly finish bottle conditioning. These tunes have really helped us soak up the last bits of summer and have brought us loads of joy in the lead up to harvest.

The creators of this great Table Cider Playlist need very little introduction but have really brought some great (and spicy!?) energy and life to the mix.

Jen Ferguson & Glenn Williams of Hopburns & Black are great friends who are always supplying us with interesting new beer, cider, wine, hot sauces, and as it happens - music. Every time they visit us we feel like Santa's just come to town even though it might be the middle of summer!

They are inspiring people with amazing palates who are passionate about everything they do (even if that might be singing karaoke whilst eating hot chilies!) and consistently inspire us and introduce us to new things.

When Little Pomona asked us to put this playlist together, we knew it had to be all our favourite way to eat: BBQ, and a shared alfresco table with great food, great booze and great company.

One of our favourite memories of summer 2020 was the final chance we had to get a handful of friends together in our back garden, a last, unexpected blast of warmth and sunshine before the change of seasons and lockdown restrictions forced us all back inside our homes for the next few months. The Kamado Joe was hot, the drinks were cold, the conversation was spicy - and Little Pomona's Table Cider went down far too easily. Luckily we had more than one bottle on hand...

That memory - and the thought of creating more like it this summer - has inspired this three-hour playlist. It's all about those long, lazy, languid summer days, where afternoon turns into evening turns into night, where the drinks keep flowing and toes keep tapping, and fresh grilled goodness keeps arriving in the middle of the table until no one can fit in another single bite. Where an impromptu dance floor forms around the table after the plates get cleared away, the smoke of the BBQ replaced by the scent of the jasmine on the night air, happy, sun-blushed, cider-flushed faces smiling, glasses clinking. The very best kind of get-together.
