Definitions
In this Privacy Policy, the following definitions apply:
- Data: Collectively all the information that you submit to Little Pomona Ltd on your visit to the website and in placing your order
- Little Pomona Ltd, We, Us, Our Site: Little Pomona Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales with registered number 08074587 and whose registered office is Broad Street Chambers, 18 Broad Street, Bromyard, Herefordshire HR7 4BT
- Relevant Laws: Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR; Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 as amended by the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) (Amendment) Regulations 2011
- Data Controller: For the purposes of Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR, Little Pomona Ltd is the Data Controller, with Susanna Forbes appointed as Privacy Compliance Officer. Please contact her with any queries, susanna@littlepomona.com
- The Site is not intended for individuals under the current drinking age in the country of viewing. In the UK this is 18.
- Scope: This privacy policy applies only to the actions of Little Pomona Ltd and Users with respect to the Website. It does not extend to any websites that can be accessed from this Site, including, but not limited to, any links we may provide to social media websites.
Collecting Personal Information & Cookies
When you visit Our website, LittlePomona.com, and make a purchase, we collect certain types of information, all deemed Personal Information, for a variety of reasons. This broadly falls into two categories: Device Information, to offer you the best possible website experience and to guard against fraud, and Order Information, so that we can process your order in a timely fashion
We collect Personal Information using cookies, log files and tag files,
Cookies are small pieces of data, stored in text files, that are kept on your computer or other devices when websites are loaded in a browser. Cookies will remember your preferences for either a single visit ("session" cookie) or multiple repeat visits ("persistent" cookie).
Cookies often include an anonymous unique identifier and are used for a variety of purposes that relate to Our site, including, "remembering" your age, enabling Members to sign in, ensuring you can load and return to your Shopping Trolley.
Personal information collected relates to purchases that you make, and to the Little Pomona Club. This includes your name, date of birth, billing address, shipping address, delivery instructions, payment information (including credit and debit card numbers or PayPal account details, plus email address, and phone number. We refer to this as Order Information.
How Is Personal Information Used?
Little Pomona Ltd uses the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site, including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).
Additionally, we use this Order Information to: Communicate with you; Screen orders for potential risk or fraud; and when in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information relating to our products or services.
Members of the Little Pomona Club will be offered special offers related to limited edition ciders, as well as invitations to Members' events and Member Volunteer Days at the Cider House.
Device Information that we collect is used to help screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimise our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site).
We do not carry advertising on the website, although we will write about other events and cider producers.
Sharing Your Data
We share your Personal Information with Third Parties to power the Little Pomona webshop. Little Pomona Ltd uses Shopify Ltd for the shopping experience and website, Bold Commerce for Little Pomona Club, and MailChimp as the marketing automation platform. By submitting your details to Little Pomona Ltd, you acknowledge that the information you provide will be transferred to Shopify, Bold Commerce and MailChimp for processing in accordance with their Privacy Policy and Terms. Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Your Rights
Through the Data Protection Act, under the rules of the GDPR, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact our Data Control Manager, susanna@littlepomona.com. There is no charge for this service.
As a resident outside the Canada and the US, since Shopify is domiciled in Canada, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, in particular to Canada.
Data Retention
When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records for at least a year for regulatory reasons, and until you ask us to delete this information.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
