Celebrate all things pears this festive season with our Perry is Alive trio.
First up we have our Pet Nat Perry 2023, Hendre Huffcap Translucent, hazy lemon in the glass, the smell of ripe pears, honey and hay tumble out of the bottle. In the mouth it's all super creamy, concentrated pear fruit to begin with before a gorgeous streak of electric acidity emerges. For a moment it becomes a real study in yuzu lemons and sherbet dib dabs, and then returns to the loveliness of the pears and the blossom.
Next up there's our Throne Farm Perry 2022 Wholly riper and more luscious than its delicate, crystalline 2021 predecessor, the fruit this time around is a spectrum of yellow - mango, peach and pineapple - siting within a fabulously long and textured liquid. With a hint of ripe tannin, a touch of sweetness and balance, poised acidity, this Perry speaks elegantly of the glory of the vintage.
Last but not least we have our super special Brut de Poiré 2021. With wonderfully bright aromatics, all brioche, honey, ripe pear and blossom on the nose, in the mouth it’s supremely elegant, with a plush, luxurious, creamy mouthfeel cut through with fine, bright acids. This framework carries a complex array of flavours – those honey and floral notes are there along with sweet ripe pears, joined by lime, thyme and a hint of anise.
