Old Man & The Bee is our annual homage to our beautiful home orchard and the wonderful fruit it gives us every year. 2021 was a fine growing season, characterised by a lack of extremes. Settled conditions at blossom time, gently warm summer and autumn months, have given the ciders made from it, a balanced and harmonious feel. So it is for this vintage of Old Man & The Bee.
A blend of our own Burrells Meadow Orchard Dabinett (76%), Harry Masters Jersey (14%) and Foxwhelp, it is a golden liquid in the glass. Honeysuckle, peaches and a touch of honey on the nose lead to a textured, juicy mouthful of tangy apples and slightly underripe apricots, with super soft tannins, a little spice and sweet vanilla from the barrels in which it was matured. A cider for the table. It loves salt and fat. With hard, aged
cheeses or well-seasoned grilled meats it's perfect.
