It's A Celebration!
Special occasions demand outstanding food and drink to mark the moment. The news that David Llewellyn's sparkling, méthode traditionelle Lusca Irish Perry 2014, was served at the drinks reception for President Biden on his recent trip to Dubline made me think again: what better drink could there be than something local, something rare, and something supremely tasty?
So we've added a celebratory trio to our drinks menu today, to mark the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Ranging through the alcohol and flavour spectrum, we hope there's something for all.
Taking crowning position is Brut Zero NV - our champagne method sparkling cider.
Six years in the making, three different vintages, with a healthy dose of that wonderful, historic apple, Foxwhelp, from our Home Orchard, this is the cider that's opened banquets, toasted weddings, matched Black Bomber cheese soufflé - and wowed James Martin and guest chef Martin Hooker on James Martin's Saturday Morning show.
not normally available by the glass, £5 flute
Pink Fizz - that king of cider apples, Kingston Black, receives the Hard Rain treatment.
A lower alcohol cocktail - just 3.5% abv - the strawberry notes in the cider are matched with macerated British strawberries, garnished with an apple fan. £4 flute
Apple Spritz - for the juniors and the truly dedicated drivers, Kings Acre Pippin organic apple juice from our good friends at Hillside Farms, with sparkling water, apple & strawberry garnish. £3 tumbler
