We like to joke that the biggest difference between our cider and wine is that our grapes grow on trees! To a certain extent that is true. We left the world of wine to start Little Pomona and we see the parallels and the differences every day. These three drinks are super vinous.

To Boldly Go broadens our horizons of perry making – or do we mean winemaking? The Metamorphosis brings together two grape varieties, Solaris and Seyval Blanc, with two pear varieties, Longbois and Antricotin, in a roughly equal blend for a wild co-fermentation before being bottle conditioned and hand disgorged, making this an utterly unique creation! The perfect combination of the two fruits, the perry pears are revealed in the creamy texture, residual sweetness, honeysuckle aromatics and juicy nectarine flavours, while the grapes show themselves with Yuzu lemon, peachiness, citrusy lime, fine-boned acid, palate weight and something distinctly grapey!

Ripple They say Egremont Russet is the Chardonnay of the apple world, and it's hard to deny its vinous qualities. So much so, we've long joked about making an English Chablis - Chablis de Mercia in fact! And here we are from the stunning 2022 harvest. Pale lemon in the glass with a gorgeously fragrant nose of jasmine blossom, honey and sugared almonds, the opulence and purity of the vintage is truly dazzling.

Orange cider is an infrequent but happy homage to one of our favourite things, orange wines. Peach fuzz, sweet incense and a touch of old leather on the nose, this is soft and plush in the mouth, dripping with sweet, juicy ripe fruit – apricot, yellow plums, cantaloupe melon – all underpinned by something more earthbound and rugged that speaks of the orchard in autumn. There’s a little citrus oil here too, plus nutmeg spice, subtle tannins and a finish that evokes the whole of the apple.
