🎶 A Box Of Rain 🎶
To celebrate being shortlisted in the Best Drinks Producer category at the BBC Food & Farming Awards this year, we’ve put together a Box of Rain - six bottles, three pairs of our latest ciderkins, two of which are yet to be released! – that you can grab in time for the Bank Holiday weekend at a very special price!
Hard Rain is our revival of a long forgotten field workers' drink, known as ciderkin. Like its wine cousin piquette in France, ciderkins are made by taking the pomace left over from pressing, adding water, leaving it to soak and pressing again. By doing this we extract the sugars, flavours and aromas left before sending the liquid to ferment. This results in lower alcohol, tangy, creamy refreshing drinks that we later have fun supplementing with interesting ingredients!
We find them the breeziest, tastiest and most effortlessly refreshing drinks around!
LITTLE POMONA BOX OF RAIN
In our Box of Rain, we have two of each of the following:
🍐 Simcoe Pear 2021
Brand new and our first “perrykin”. Made from a base of Green Horse and Hendre Huffcap pears, spontaneously fermented, before dry hopping with Simcoe & then bottling conditioning. This is tangy & creamy, super fruity, tropical & fragrant that finishes with a teasing acid bite reminiscent of kombucha. 3.5% abv
The second edition, apples, black currants & hops. Grapefruit & pine dankness on the nose leading into a fruity taste explosion of rhubarb & watermelon. Total refreshment guaranteed. 4.5% abv
🍐🍇 Perry-quette 2021
This is surely a world first! It’s a combination of two ‘kins', involving grapes - Solaris, Seyval Blanc and Bacchus – and perry pears, such as Red Pear, Oldfield and Blakeney Red. Super ripe mango & grapes on the nose, met by juicy, creamy, citrussy pears in the mouth, and a little funky acid, it’s basically a (somewhat) alcoholic version of Lilt. 3.2% abv
These can be bought separately for £10 online - check links above - and in-store, but we’re offering the 6 x 75cl Box of Rain for £50 instead of £60 until the end of the week.
There’s never been a better time to explore this unique drink.
