Cider Sessions For The Club
Club members came from near and far to enjoy Little Pomona’s first Cider Club Day on 16 October.
What began as a new release day, with the launch of Cider Sessions No 1, the first bottling for its Club, grew into a celebration of rare pears, as the Mayor of Hereford planted two rare perry pear trees, and a championing of all things apple, as CAMRA made its annual Pomona Award to Little Pomona’s own Susanna Forbes.
Members mingled with local dignitaries, CAMRA members and visitors, enjoying eats from Nizi bakery, he of Hereford Bun fame, Bromyard’s own Foodscapes, and local legend, Legges of Bromyard.
“It was wonderful to see everyone,” said Little Pomona’s Susanna Forbes. “Thanks in particular to Bromyard Mayor, Suzette Brunsdon, and her son and consort, Jacques, for joining us, Elizabeth Pimblett, director of the Museum of Cider, and to Cllr Kath Hey, continuing her strong support for us craft cider producers. And huge high fives to our tireless crew for bringing this together in the midst of harvest.”
“Thanks also to photographer Gerry Matthews for these fine images.”
The next Little Pomona Open Day will be 20 November, our Cider Nouveau day, when we will welcome in the first cider from this year’s harvest. “Think Beaujolais Nouveau but better,” says James Forbes
Aside from these special events, the Tasting Room is purely open as a Bottle Shop until April 2022, or for pre-arranged Click & Collect.
