It’s no myth that cider is a brilliant and versatile match with cheese. What grows together goes together as they say. Cider has acid to cut through the fattiness. Tannins in cider that may seem a little dry in the drink itself combine with the proteins in cheese to become soft and velvetty. Fruit sweetness and those additional spicy, leathery flavours of some West Country ciders are often reflected in the cheeses themselves.

It’s a great world to explore and this three-pack will get you started on an epic journey of flavour!

Throne Farm Perry is a still, off-dry, barrel-matured perry that is as close to a northern Italian white wine as you’ll get without making the trip to Lake Garda itself! Pristine and pure, it’s like drinking fresh nectarine juice! Try this with fresh young goats cheese or a youthful Cheshire.

Wading In is cider’s answer to fine white burgundy. It is the perfect combination of succulent white fleshed fruit, honeysuckle perfume, star anise and fine oak. With cheese, match it with soft but full flavoured cheeses – ripe Brie, Camembert or their equivalents. Washed rind cheeses are a good bet with this one too.

Thick Cut Yarlington Mill, with its bold autumnal flavour of candied apricot, orange oils, winter spices and sweet fruity richness from time in ex-cognac casks, is absolutely the perfect partner for fine, mature cheddars and is also excellent with salty blue cheeses.
